"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

From the ColThis is an easy addition to climbing Haeckel, which is a much cooler climb. The route across the col is really straight forward, and of course the views are great as always in the Sierra!

Wallace, Haeckel traverseClimbed via the North face route then continued on the traverse to Haeckel. Pretty loose and crappy down low, gets more solid and fun higher up near the summit.

Up From Wallace ColI climbed the peak from Wallace Col on the way to an overnight camp just on the west side of the crest. Neither side of Wallace Col was particularly enjoyable, with the west side being especially loose.

E. FaceClimbed up mostly in snow, so it wasn't to bad... as part of a traverse from Picture Peak... continued on to Clyde Spires.

Up From the SouthAfter having climbed Mt. Fiske, we approached from the southwest up to the left of Wallace Col and turned left on the ridge to the summit. That summit block was a great photo op spot. Descended the southeast face.

Tried haeckel from their twice, no luck- I feel like an idiot. Any suggestions?

Route: From Sabrina BasinClimbed with my son Alex McLeod, Mark Danner, and Keith Erke. A long hard scramble from camp at Dingleberry Lake. A big pile of rock! Up NE slope, down SE slope. No fun either way!

Route Climbed: Southeast Slope Date Climbed: June 26, 2005This years significant snowfall made for an interresting climb on the otherwise loose scree filled Southeast Slope.

Route Climbed: Traverse from Mt Haeckel, descended Southeast Slope Date Climbed: August 4th, 2004The traverse over from Haeckel was fun, but the descent down the Southeast Slope was a nightmare! I can't even imagine how horrible it would be to climb up that slope.
The summit block was quite fun to be on, though.

Route Climbed: Traverse from Haeckel / SE Slopes (descent) Date Climbed: Aug 4, 2004The trickiest summit block I encountered during the Challenge... although rated class 3, Haeckel was a much easier climb.
