sunny
With Flanders. I remember looking out at a viewpoint a little off the summit. Not sure what the deal is with this site but I've had several dozen summitlogs erased. Are there time limits? WTF? This was one I rediscovered that had disappeared

Icy
Went up willey range trail. Southeastern aspect of most of the trail made it pretty slushy/icy along the entire portion. Good views, but I wish there were some more snow.

Third mountain of the day
Two hours and fifty six minutes to summit from the parking lot at the depot down below after tagging Mt Tom and Mt Field. Best views of the day from this mountain. Great view of Mt Washington to the northeast.
Hiked a Willey, Tom, Field, Avalon overnight backpack. Watched the sun set and rise. Perfect weekend.

Highland Center
Climbed Willey as part of a trip through the Willey Range. Started at the highland center, up the Avalon Trail to Field, then out to Willey and Back. Windy with clouds, so no good views.

cloudy
Dropped my pack off on fields summit and ran over.
Of the three (Willey, Field, and Tom) that many do all at once, I have to say that the views back toward Crawford Notch were the best from here. We had a beautiful day to do these three. Perfect early fall weather.

traverse
Traversed along the Willey Range trail, starting at the Ripley trail-head (A.T.), and back.
Maybe it was the fatigue from a long hike the day before, but the elevation gain from the notch to the top of this range took me by surprise.
Cloudy day, no views.

Mount Willey
Climbed with Tom, Field and Avalon via the Willey Range Trail. Ran into a spruce grouse while traversing the ridge between Field and Willey. Of the three 4000' in the range Willy definately has the best view. We had ample photo opportunities provided by the views of Crawford Notch and the Presidential Range from the opening through the trees just below the summit. Very nice indeed.

darn spring snow
I went back to Crawford Notch to get Mt. Willey after I was there previously and went to Mt. Field and Tom. I went to Mt. Avalon first, which I liked. On the way up Mt. Field, there was snow, and not the kind that is good for hiking. Between Field and Willey, and between Field and Tom, there was quite a bit of snow for late May, and it slowed you down. I was really covered in mud after this. Still it gave you some nice views of Crawford Notch.

Avalon - Field - Willey
Part of the 'death march' which was really just too long of a hike for a large group of people. Very nice weather at least.

Willey Range Loop
Third peak on the three peak peakbagging trip. 20th 4000 foot peak in the last 2 months. Its looking like I'm not going to make all 48 this summer, maybe I'll try and wrap them up during Christmas break.

Glad to add to my list of 48s, and happy to get Willey after running out of time last year. Great area to hike.
