Hometown pride  Sucess!

Climbed this baby many times. Trailhead is walking distance from my front door. Don't know what I'd do without this mountain nearby.

Via Road  Sucess!

Main road to top of Mt. Wilson was snowed in. Tried to tag San Gabriel Peak, but too much snow and getting too dangerous without crampons. Turned around and went to top of Mt. Wilson via the road.

In a cloud  Sucess!

My friend Kyle's very first hike--the old-school way to do it--Old Mt. Wilson trail. Very pretty, very nice, and towards the end we ascended into a cloud, so that when we got to Eagle Lookout, all we could see was a wall of grey. Definitely worth it though. Very green and pretty.

From Occidental Peak  Sucess!

This was the second of three peaks for the day. I had previously driven to the top of Mt Wilson on a number of occasions. Hiked with my brother-in-law.

So what if I drove up there? I already spent 4 hours trying to get to Dawson Gap on Angeles Crest Hwy! The antennae are pretty freaky. And soooo, on to Mt Markham. :P

One leg in a loop  Sucess!

Started at Devore and hiked to the peak up Strayns Canyon with a group of Boy Scouts. Made for a good hike, but I don't think I'd do it again.

Mt. Wilson Trail Run  Sucess!

I parked near the gated closed road (end of Santa Anita Drive). It was a beautiful mildly cold morning. I ran from the closed gate on the wide open empty road to the parking lot (Chantry Flats) leading towards Mt.Wilson. It is a nice elevation gain with continues uphill run where there is no room for rest. Defiantly do it. If the road is closed, you are guaranteed to have plenty of solitude.
