This is the very fresh paw print from a mountain lion who was sharing the Grinell Glacier trail with me on the morning of September 19th, 2007. The paw print was about the size of the palm of my hand, about 3 1/2 inches across. Snow was falling quickly at this time and was rapidly obscuring other prints further up the trail, which is why I think this was only minutes old. The tracks were coming down the trail as I was heading up, then abruptly turned off the trail and down a wash. Perhaps she heard me coming?
