You are very lucky to have seen a mountian lion (cougar). One thing to keep in mind if it should ever happen again (unlikely, though), is to make yourself big and noisy, so the cougar knows you're there and not easy pickings. My brother actually saw a cougar take down and kill a deer in November - it happened right in front of him. I've seen about 10 - 15 cougars so far, and consider it a gift every time I do. Cheers!

Everyone says the same thing about the luck. I know these are very elusive creatures, however he was leisurely strolling on the trail. He never saw us. We kept quiet to try to get a pic. Not the wisest move I guess.

Lucky!Quite a score getting to see that cat. In all my years in the mountains, I've only seen a cat once.
