mountain scene near the source of the Romanche. Shortly after this the marked route to Adele Planchard hut climbs the right slopes for still 900 m elevation gain (July 2001). In the background on the right is Roche Faurio (3730 m); the pass on the left whre the snow couloir leads to is Col de la Roche Faurio (3376 m), where this winter picture was taken.
