Brec de Chambeyron

Geographical classification: Western Alps > Ubaye Alps >> > Chambeyron group


Strange pyramid with an inclined plane on top, the Brec de Chambeyron is the most popular and typical summit arround Ubaye valley. This is not the highest summit of the group but the second one after Aiguille de Chambeyron 3411m. "Brec or Bric " is a name used for mountains looking like a "broken tooth".

Access route to mountain base :
Chambeyron hut > 9 colors lake path until Star lake > Col des Terres Jaunes (right of Gypière pass) > dencent along a rock bar, then acent to a yellow gendarme.
