Guffert

Overview

GUFFERT is a summit in the "Rofangebirge" in Austria. The summit is a rocky pyramid. The beautiful mountain is called "The Matterhorn above the Achensee". You can climb GUFFERT the whole year. The normal Route (from the South / Steinberg) is a easy hiking-route with little climbing in the first grades and takes 4h up and down. At the summit you can enjoy the view to GROSSGLOCKNER, GROSSVENEDIGER and ZUGSPITZE. The coordinates are 47.5333°N, 11.7833°E.

Getting There

You can get there from Innsbruck (1h) or Munich (1h) over the "Achensee" to Steinberg. Steinberg is the town at the foot of the mountain.

When To Climb: Weather, Webcam and general Informations

You can climb it the whole year. In winter or spring are ski required. From Steinberg it is an 1100m high ascent.

NO PERMITS NEEDED. Summit: 47.5333°N, 11.7833°E.

1)
Normal Route from South (East-ridge):
Steinberg: Through the forrest to the cirque. Then the cirque up to the ridge. From the ridge in 20min to the summit. The whole ascent takes 2:15h.
