Overview

Mt. VanHoevenberg is a small mountain when compared to some of it's neighbors like Marcy, Gothics, and Algonquin but what it lacs in height it makes up for in views. From the diffrent ledges near the summit you can see from Porter Mt. to Lake Placid. The hike to the top is just just over 2 miles.

Mt. VanHoevenberg's North Side is Home to the Verizon Sports Complex and hosted events for the 1932 and 1980 Olympic Games. While the north side of the mountain does not offer a wilderness setting, one would not know it by hiking up the south side. The south side is truly wild.
