Anderson

Nice to see some prominence related info here.

The term you are looking for is Dominance. Dominance = Prominance divided by Elevation. It can of course be multiplied by 100 to be expressed as a %. As you note, dominance of 90+% is pretty rare especially for peaks that have that much total prominence. Most high dominance peaks are islands or shorter coastal peaks.

Re: Anderson

Thanks for the terminology clarification. You are definitely one of the prominence masters. Much appreciated!

Re: Anderson

Prominence dork is probably a more accurate description but I'm OK with prominence master too. ;-)

Good humor

I really like the first paragraph in your description. The honesty there is amusing but it doesn't make me want to visit this peak.

Re: Good humor

This is a peakbagger's summit. Nothing more, nothing less.

Alternate Route

One other thing, as long as that gate is open and there is no snow you can drive to within a mile via the other route that we took. See:

Re: Alternate Route

Very true. But there is no way of knowing if the gate(s) will be open (i.e. normally not open) until arriving at the mountain. I focused on the main route coming from the east because it is perhaps (at least currently) the most straightforward route and most PNT travelers would be arriving from the east. But thank you for including that link to a possible alternate route.
