Too Lazy? You're probably right though, it would turn into a long exhausting search. As for the snake, it was awseome. That picture was taken on the lower part of the Mt. Olympus trail above Salt Lake City. I think it was a big blow snake, about 5 ft long! No way I'd grab a rattler like that! But we did see a rattler just below the summit.
My grandfather told me it was named for William Jennings Bryan, but they spelled the name wrong. The Chamber of Commerce says they aren't sure how it was named, there are many possibilities (including the one my grandfather told me). See link:
