Gotta do this one, too! Must've been quite a long dayhike!

Deerhorn would be pretty reasonable by itself. But West Vidette was a complete slogfest that really detracted from my enjoyment of the day... it featured one of those abysmal scree/packed mud slopes where I had to use my hands to try and make upwards progress. (Think Mills, only twice as bad). And I'd swear half of the moraine on the hike just to reach that scree slog must have been suspended in mid-air--whole piles of blocks would collapse when I stepped on one of the boulders. I found it a bit scary, actually (maybe, for peace of mind, I shouldn't have watched that Dateline special with Aron Ralston the night before?) Anyway, I now understand why West Vidette doesn't get climbed very often.

Good Start. Still needs some work. Add distance and elevation gain from the trailhead. That would be the only thing you are missing, on what else is a really well-done page. Looks like a fun climb!

Well-written page for an interesting mountain. Thanks for posting it!

I think that the first time you refer to it, you should say that JMT stands for John Muir Trail (for the benefits of the non-locals).

One tiny detail:

for those camping -> for those campings

Broken link

Nice page for a rarely climbed mountain. And a fine climb, too.

The SPS link is broken though, should be http://angeles.sierraclub.org/sps/l2a/sps0805.htm
