Great page but you might want to mention that the link in Mountain Conditions is also a link for camping, or you might want to put another link to it in the Camping Section.
Didn't know Texas had granite domes. Very cool. Hope to get there someday.
Nice page. I had no idea Texas had big granite domes like this. I've climbed Stone Mountain NC and Stone Mountain GA, but never heard of this one. By the way, one geological correction: Enchanted Rock is a batholith, not a blathosphere. There's no such thing as a blathosphere as far as my geologist wife knows.
Looks like some really impressive friction climbing. I may have to swallow my pride and pay a visit to Texas after all ;-)
Sarah, I'm "fixin'" to go to south Texas and hope to swing by this area, so I was delighted to see the page. I did notice that the the links at the end are mostly dead, though--I'll find the info, but you might want to fix when you get a chance.
Cheers,
Chris

Untitled CommentThanks for the vote, Alan. This is a great winter crag, so you should come down when things cool down a bit.

Untitled CommentI always appreciate when SPers reveal climbing and hiking gems in parts of the country where you'd expect to find only farmland and cows. Kudos!

Untitled CommentVery nice page. Those formations are fun to climb. As you say, similar to the formations in Georgia and North Carolina.
Arabia Mountain and Panola Mountain in Georgia are also of this type, but not as large--only 100 to 200 feet vertical.

Untitled CommentThanks for the geologic correction. Yes, there is plenty of friction climbing to be had here. Enjoy.
