Great page, Mathias! Your page provides really so much useful and interesting information: on the mountain in general, its reputation, its location in the area, its relation to other mountains like Piz Bernina and Ortler. I appreciate the long and precise routes-oveview, the infos concerning the history of climbing, and all the many useful links concerning the huts, weather conditions, public transportation, live cams, map and books. And I especially appreciate that you quoted the other SP-members from whom you got some of the information. This is really an exemplary behaviour!
Maybe you could still add some information concerning the approaches to some huts which you have not mentioned yet.
thanks! Most of the honour goes to Ari. I have only written the overwiew text. More work is planned, concerning a route for the Stuedlgrat, huts, about the villages, and of course many photos of mine.
One minor addition: From Stüdl Hut, one can also reach the summit via Ködnitzkees, Adlersruh (ridge with cables), Leitl ... This is a good alternative if conditions are to unsafe for Stüdl ridge. It's also possible to reach the Leitl directly from the Ködnitzkees, circumventing Adlersruh. See my Summit Log entry.
We spent the night in the parking place of the Lukner haus twice without any problem (OK. it was in october, and hardly anybody were there). Of course camping there all day is not the proper way to do it, but the house personnel were very kind with us, although with this camping we worsened their business.
