Nice page! It's a great looking mountain, but one of the worst scree ascents I've done. Now someone should submit Babcock and the La Platas will be pretty well covered!
Good page, interesting read. Interesting also to read about the highpoint issue. When preparing a page for a mountain on the Italian Austrian border I read that there had been two measurements for the whole area, an Austrian one and an Italian slightly differing in their results. Both measurements were taken in the early 19th century but still today Italian and Austrian maps show these discrepancies. You might think with both countries in the EU they might be able to resolve these issues...
Summit comments talk about the bushwhack but we found a nice climbers trail in the woods and had very little bushwhacking, it was close to where the trail crossed the creek, look for it near some fallen logs maybe 5 minutes up trail from the creek crossing, it really helps!

Untitled CommentNice job. Don't know if you want to mention it or not, but it's interesting to note that Hesperus is one of the four sacred peaks of the Navajos.

Untitled CommentNice work. Great route page. Learned about this interesting elevation dispute on the recent Lavender Peak page. Looks like a great area.
