Well, I don't agree fully. A lot of information is missing. It would be fine if someone adds climbing routes, summer pictures etc. I am sorry that Austrians are not very active on SP.
Nicely done, Vid! You keep exploring the less known areas of Austria. I mean, not that Hochschwab is not well known here, but there are not many mountaineers coming to Austria to climb such - interesting - peaks. And to see the highest ones from the best perspective, one has to visit their less known neighbours. ;-)
Yes, areas like Hochschwab, Gesaeuse and the like are very similar to our mountains. It's fine on one hand, and I like that, but on the other hand we don't go there so often. I would like to see more pages of NE Alps on Summit post. Thanks for your visit and vote!
Hi Vid !
Believe it or not, but Hochschwab is the closest 2000m mountain of the Alps from Wroclaw. A 6-7h drive according to Google Maps that almost rivalizes with reaching some remote parts of the Tatras from my home town ! So the plan is to do one day the whole traverse of this massif.
I wondered if it is possible to park for free a car at Seewiesen or Bodenbauer for a couple of nights, and if it's safe (knowing it's a car with a polish number). What do you think ?
Uh, I would not know that, really. It was so long time ago and we were only once there - for tour skiing, when parking was really not a problem. Generally in Austria I'm not very much worried.
