Nader, I thought I was submitting some obscure stuff! I love ya man but I can tell you struggled with the Sig Photo. Nice page to a nice area. Can you list your top 5 favorite hikes in the area and why, for those of us that will be in Silverton for a day. You have really cleaned up in the Silverton area, what's next?

Thank you Kane. I have enjoyed your work. It's hard to pick favorites. Everything that I have submitted is pretty much a walk-up. Some, like McMillan and Ohio Peaks are short hikes. Hayden Mountain is longer and Tower Mountain gives you almost 4000 ft vertical. Niagara is one of the highest ones. I have one more San Juan Peak to add.

Another exemplary effort for nader. With this page and several other mountains under his care, he has pretty much covered the entire range from Mount Abrams to Ohio Peak. An impressive feat, and one, I'm proud to say, will be forever exclusive to SP. Well done!

HOWEVER: Nader may find himself busy, if he choses to do so and keep these pages current in the best SP tradition. McMillan and a number of the Red Mountains are embroiled in a property rights issue. See my post in the overview section.

Nader may have opened an interesting and important can of worms by submitting these pages. Real time maintenence may eventually be required, much in the spirit of Culebra Peak, Holy Cross or the Elk Range 14ers. All is presently quiet, but this important and complex legal issue is bound to pop up.

SP members-please assist nader if you stumble on any info in your internet travels concerning this issue. Let's work together to keep SP vital and current.

Well done, nader. Oh, and uh, good luck! HA!

Thanks for the info. One place that interested people can go is the "Red Mountain Project" site. I made a link in the main page.

Good job documenting this peak. Any idea who is the McMillan it was named for?

Thank you for the vote. I will try to see if I can come up with anything about the origin of the name.

Hi Nader,

great page, but I would add there also winter season. McMillan is one of the top Colorado backcountry ski places.

Thanks, Liba

Re: Hi Nader,

Hi Liba,

First of all, congrats for making it to the top of Aconcagua.

I really enjoyed seeing your snowy pictures. Recently, I have been going to Colorado only in summer (1997 was the last time I skied in Colorado!!). It is great to see these mountains in their full winter glory.

I added a section for backcountry skiing and used one of your pictures.

Thank you for your help and info.
