Thanks for your comments. I found one or two typos and corrected them and changed a road designation from a state hwy to a county highway. Additionally, I added some route information. I trust that you find this page better now and will rerate the page.

Descent

If the weather is good, you can descend as we did (July 2016) -- go down the back of Belford towards the saddle for Oxford. But the thin trail continues past the turning point for Oxford, and wanders down through the meadow to Elkhead pass. From there, turn right and follow the trail through the valley below Missouri back about a mile to meet the trail you came up. Walking down this way is much more gradual and pretty than the descent down the steep way up Belford.
