I saw your pictures go up earlier and wondered what you were up to. I'd love to see Evolution Basin; I didn't have time the one time I was out that way-- only had time to get as close as Muir Pass.
This is one of the regions in the Sierra that really make me want to get out that way. Great page! Leaving the San Gabriels behind a bit. All ranges deserve your SP page attention! theron
Thanks much. It is a beautiful area like so many others in the Sierra Nevada. We have so much in California in terms of wonderful wilderness areas to enjoy. Have you ever climbed Mt. Whitney? If not, it might be a good place to start.

This mountain brings baçk some of the best memories of my youth. When we climbed it in 1980 it still had the original charter on top that was signed by John Muir. We climbed it while doing the High Sierra Trail on a 14 day trip.
