I lived near this peak for a number of years when I was a teenager and first started backpacking. But I never went there, mainly because it was no longer part of the AT. I missed hiking a nice mountain.
Thanks. Only my second time in the GA mtns. First was a long time ago (Jan., 1996 I think) doing the Hog Pen Hill Climb road race from Helen to Hog Pen Gap. We really enjoyed our brief visit last week.
