Re: I'll get ya...

Oh, are you doing the Mahoosuc traverse? It's a great trip; about as hard as it gets in the East.

Re: I'll get ya...

I don't know exactly what I am donig in the Mahoosuc's it depends on how many people and cars I bring with me and time, but I will be doing something up there.

WMNF Rules??

This peak is outside the WMNF; it's in the Leadmine State Forest, which is an extremely narrow strip. Outside of that seems to be private land. It's certainly possible that the State Forest follows similar rules to the WMNF, but I can't find any actual State Forest rules listed anywhere (may have to call NH Fish & Game).

Re: WMNF Rules??

It's not even in Leadmine SF (both leadmines are down within a mile of the Androscoggin). According to my old copy of the WMG (1992), the land was owned by the paper company (James River) which has since been sold three times. I don't know what the current state of ownership is. In any case, I'll change the text.

WMNF, sort of

The A.T. corridor was acquired by the National Park Service, but has been turned over to the WMNF to manage, note that across the state line it's owned by the ME Bureau of Public Lands (or whatever it's official name is)

I consider Mt Success to be a fine day hike from Success Pond Road

Mount Success

You have some interesting reports on your side. From a region which I do not know.
