I am so glad this page went up. It is a great "secret" to share with the rest of the world. Potato Mountain might not be a high elevation beast like some of the other San Gabriel Mountains, but its personality and easy access make it a gem. Thanks for the page, it looks great!
Potato is a great mountain. It was the first named peak I ever climbed. I really liked camping on the summit and waking up in heavy mist. If you have any pictures please post them. Thanks, theron

One Potato, Two Potato...
I just noticed that Google Earth calls "Potato Mountain" what my old USGS topo map calls "Sunset BM." Sunset BM (5,399 feet) is about 1.6 miles NNW of the Potato Mountain (3,422 feet) featured on this page.
