Very useful

I'm scheduled to be down this way in May 2008 and have been looking for something new (to me) in the area. This will do nicely. Looking forward to info on the other summits in the area - which I can see you're in the process of adding.

What sort of conditions am I likely to be looking at in late April/early May?

Cheers,

Martin

Re: Very useful

I am going to work up a page on the Thousand Lakes Wilderness itself at some point soon. The area is certainly scenic and worth visiting. There are a few good loop possibilities. The area could be open early in the season. It was this year, but it totally depends on the kind of winter. If coming early, bring bug spray. Lots of bug spray.

Other options in the area are the Trinity Alps and the Marble Mountains. Canyon Creek is usually open early in the season. April is the perfect time for a trip in the Ishi Wilderness.
