These car to car excursions add interest to SP. Good photos and nice view of Mt. Temple.

Another beautiful page--most inspiring!

Just my opinion, but nice (and in this case, as your caption makes quite clear--informative!) as the sig photo is, I'm thinking maybe it should be a shot of Sheol, rather than Temple...but I understand why you did it the way you did....

Anyway, keep the pages coming!

I agree Saint, only time I did not make the sig photo the subject mt...but sheol is nothing more than the extension of Haddo....I have no idea why it was ever made an official mt..the only reason I went up was to check out Haddo and Aberdeen for next week and also knew it would give me great beta on the north face routes of Temple...and in the end, I just thought that this scramble was more about studying the north face of Temple than summiting Sheol...cheers!

I decided you were right in the end, I switched photos on this page....it did occur to me somebody could think Temple was Sheol Mt....sometimes one is too close to the subject matter. Thanks for the edit tip. Cheers.

Good one! I like the notion of a vantage point to look closely at the routes of the higher neighbour

Interesting little peak - looks like it should have some rock routes on the side one of your photos shows, but maybe just not worth it.

Another nice page.

Curious about the name.

Sheol - The underworld of the dead - why give a peak a name like that?

Do you know how come it was given that name?

"Named by Samuel E.S. Allen in 1894. The mountain was named because of the gloomy appearance of the valley at its base in contrast to nearby Paradise Valley. " I can't say I noticed what Allen was thinking...it all looked fairly good to me, not our most scenic venue, but interesting enough.

Thanks Corax...
