I saw this summit from the Avalanche Peak last year. I was wondering if someone would do a summitpost for it. Very good post with great information.
My son and I saw a grizzly just before I started the hike up Avalanche. Like the one you saw, it wanted nothing to do with us and hauled ass as soon as it noticed us. That's the kind of griz I like to see!
Thanks Bob - seeing a grizzly is definitely an intense experience! I've now seen six of them in the last two months, though none as close as this one...
