Good to see this peak here at SP. I'm planning to hit

this one, the Wah Wahs, Notch, Frisco, and a few others in that region sometime this year. Great desert peaks that few people even know about. Nice page.

I've climbed those peaks you mention, so if you need info, let me know.

This is a very nice page about a isolated peak that sees very few visitors. Three entries for 2005 as of November.

Quality stuff as usual Scott!

I'm sorry I missed it earlier (Dean pointed it out on the message board).

More on road directions

Went up Swasey Peak on 5/14/21. This page definitely helped me find the TH, but the directions were not precise. The turn-off onto old HWY 50 is not marked, and one trip report noted they missed the turn. It's closer to 11 miles from the junction in Delta, and if you turn on one of the dirt roads near the 10 mile mark, you've turned too early. Old HWY 50 is great for a gravel road, so if you see ruts and potholes on the road, you've turned too early. Some of the road signs in the directions have either changed or are in error. For example, you are north of Hwy 6 & 50, so will not see a sign that says turn right to Hwy 6 & 50 while driving west. But Swasey dominates the skyline so is difficult to miss. If in doubt, follow signs to the trilobite fossil dig, pass by the turn-off and keep right at the next "Y."

Re: More on road directions

Thanks for the updates. It has been more than 25 years since I climbed Swasey Peak so any updates are always appreciated!
