Supposedly Tanks Peak is one of the best fossil viewing places anywhere. I haven't been up there yet (it didn't look interesting to me until I heard of the fossils).
I wish I had known that about the fossils but I really didn't spend much time up there after locating the summit benchmark and register. I had left my wife back at the car and we wanted to get to Craig and find a campground near Black Mountain. If and when you visit, please add what you discover to this page.
