Thanks for the vote! Yes, more pictures would be good. I can't seem to find mine from my climb ten years ago, but I'm trying to find some others on the web.
Thanks for the vote. It's still a work in progress. I hope other SPers will go climb it and add more routes/photos. You're not too far away, are you (hint, hint).
Great page - I'm glad somebody finally added these peaks, they're my favorite in the area. Great info, and good directions on the western trailhead, thats a hard one to get to. Thanks for another great page.
Thanks for the vote, Jeff. Thanks also for the update re: vandalism in the area. I have incorporated this infor into the page. Pity, but I'm not surprised, because a nearby trailhead (Borrego Mesa) had a similar reputation. I had thought that the rough road up to Quemado Creek would have filtered out most of the riff-raff, but apparently they have penetrated even further than expected.
Thanks, Aaron. If you haven't already been, you should definitely plan to visit the Truchas Group. Beautiful mountains with very little visitation. My only reservation about posting this peak was that it would increase traffic to such a beautiful, unknown peak. But I can be selfish!
Yeah-I had the same misgivings about SP. But then I figured that they will come anyway. We might as well do what we can to protect the mountains, and SP can serve this purpose as well. How's that for rationalizing?
Great page - can't add a comment for some reason - but my car window was smashed on Rio Quemado trail head 8/20/05. Parked just before the washout. Local guys on ATVs probably did it. Nice hike though.

Untitled CommentThanks for the vote. From your member page, I understand that you prefer peaks that offer solitude. Truchas will be just what you are looking for.
