Hi Spence, thanks for the positive vote. I don't know if 6 years would be long enough, Nevada has a lot of peaks. We've got an informal list, and we'll keep plugging away...
No, I don't have any etymologic information for that peak, and there aren't any tules on there either. I hadn't really thought about it. Possibly the name has something to do with the Indians (Native Americans? I'm never sure what is PC) that live on the east side of the peak.
In case anyone ever decides that they want to access from the north via Big Canyon (like I wanted to)... Good luck! Nice big private property ranch gates blocks access to the roads back there. Bummer... I didn't have a clue until I rolled up.

P.S. The Tohakum pano has been updated to include Tule Peak.

QuestionAny idea how it got the name Tule? From your photos it doesn't look like it has tules (aka reeds or cattails) growing there.
