Very good. Except for the part where you poo-pooh the Return Creek route. I shall prove you wrong, mark my words! :-)

I'll move that discussion over to the Pettit Peak page when I get around to putting that one up. I'll make sure your rebuttal is featured (in suitably small type). :-)

Thanks for adding this peak. We did the loop from Twin Lakes, to Peeler Lake, through Kerrick Canyon to Benson Lake, to Smedberg Lake, through Matterhorn Canyon, through Slide Canyon, to Crowne Lake, and then back to Twin Lakes a couple of years ago - before I got this desire to get to the summit of the peaks. It's a beautiful area. I'll get back there again eventually.

Thanks for the vote. I've hiked most of that, too--I did part of that same loop through Kerrick Canyon, Matterhorn Canyon, and back past Crown Lake during my first week-long backpacking trip in the Sierra (I went out of Hetch Hetchy though). That was the first extended Sierra trip I ever did, so the area has some sentimental appeal to me.

I went back to hike the Barney Lake/Peeler Lake segment out of Twin Lakes on my way to Piute Mtn a few years later. Gorgeous! It's one of my favourite parts of the Sierra--I like to get out there at least once or twice a year.

I'll volunteer right now, to leave my office and head for this mountain. Nice page.
