Camel Hump
05/27/2011 Tanner's Gulch, Triple Traverse. We took the Vanderheide Direct Variation to the summit of Dromedary. Instead of going to the top of Tanners, we followed the route through a narrow passage of rock buttresses and directly up the Southern face of Dromedary.

05/10/2008 Triple Nipple via Tanner's Gulch
09/18/2007 Triple Traverse/Cottonwood Ridge to Superior
09/04/2006 Triple Traverse
Spring ascent up Tanners. Found short couloir on north side of ridge to gain summit ridge. Short sections of third class up west ridge. Bring skis for any descent. Snow was too rotten to able to arrest any fall with ice axe so shaft had to be used for safety on steep section of the descent. Watch out for undercut moats all along the route especailly the bottom sections that you can fall through.

W Ridge via Tanners
After climbing Sunrise, I returned to the Tanners saddle and ascended the W Ridge route on Dromedary. The descent back down Tanners was every bit as awful as expected. Tanners plus snow and skis is good. Tanners minus snow is dangerous and horrendously tedious. But I did it anyway.....

Up and Down Tanners
Climbed up Tanners Gulch and summited Dromedary, then traversed the ridge to the col and went up Sunrise. Sweet 3rd class climbing from the col, and an amazing uninterrupted 1500' glissade on corn snow for the descent! 6.5 hours round trip

May 27, 2011: Did the Triple Traverse with Joe B, and Matt V. The snow, even the avy debris, was very soft in Tanners, so the going was slow.

May 16, 2009 : Did this peak as part of the Triple Traverse with a group of seven from SP. We had prime conditions.

May 10 - 2008 : Went up Tanner's Gulch, hoping I might be "lucky" (or stupid) enough to do the triple traverse (Dromedary, O'Sullivans (aka Sunrise), and Broad Fork Twin Peaks without crampons. Once I summited Dromedary and had a look at O'Sullivans from there, a little voice told me to come back another day when I was prepared. It only took 2.5 hours to reach the peak, and the glissade down was fast as lightning. Given, that I had allotted the day to climbing, but was driving out of Little Cottonwood Canyon at 10:30 am, I decided to use the time to bag Mt. Olympus.
