On July 31st 2008, I was happy to celebrate my highest peak for 2008, the top of Mt. Elbert. With my 68th birthday, six weeks away, I was happy to be able to get this one in 4 hours up and 2 hours down. The next day my wife and I did Pikes Peak and then Wheeler Peak in New Mexico the day after that. A nice three days. July 31, 2008 Favorites of each year Age 62: Solo of Mt. Hood Age 63: Mt. Shasta with Bob Bolton Age 64: Dayhike solo of Mt. Whitney Age 65: Kings Peak Utah with Dennis Poulin Age 66: Three Fingers WA with Bob, Duane and Eric Age 67: Mt. Elbert CO solo Mt. Grant Nv with Dennis to complete Nevada county highpoints Age 68: 78 peaks, big and small. Favorites: Mt. Moriah/Snowyside Age 69: Pilot Peak in October 2009 with Ken Jones & redsplashman23 Age 70: Telescope Peak, Matterhorn (Nv) and Mt Baldy (AZ) were some faves. I've done over 450 peaks since I turned 62 and there are so many memorable ones that I am blessed and greatful to have the health and friends that have made this possible. Some bumps along the way: Broken finger, torn medial medicus, torn rotator cuff, near fatal fall, pneumonia,

I'm right behind you, and still bagging a few peaks with my clicking knees.

Take care of those knees. I love my trekking poles, they sure help on the downhill segments to help save them "clicking" knees.

Larry, you are too young for the bad knees, you have to get older, much older. You also have a great Christmas and holiday season. May 2009 be a super year as well.

67 years young!

I like your list of favorites by year! Amazing line-up of peaks for a 60-something my friend. I hope you can keep it up for many years to come. -Bob

I hiked up wheeler peak! Amazing is it not, there were HUGE thunder clouds as we were heading down, good thing we started early.

Fred, 63 sounds young to me now. Enjoy your youth and keep hangin in and I appreciate your vote and comments. Being in our 60's certainly is not a detriment as long as we keep active and try to live a healthy lifestyle.

Man, 54 is young. You have lots of time and the hiking effort will keep you young.
