best mistake ever
I was wanting to hike Big Interior but didn't even look at the map. When I realized I wasn't hiking the right mountain, I shrugged it off and continued up. I spent an overnight on the east ridge before the summit. Next morning I free solo'd the east ridge route the summit. Beautiful views of most of the big mountains on the island.
Camped at the top of the buttress just below the ridge. Gained the summit ridge too late in the day for an attempt at the summit. Woke up to a downpour the next mornning. Stunning area. Great views when it was not raining. Lots of fun scrambling.
Summit from an overnight camp at Baby Bedwell Lake with a group from the ACC Vancouver Island section. Great weather, great company, a varied and not overly strenuous climb, who could ask for more.
