This is a tough hike. 4200 feet of climbing, over 14 miles. Honestly, I like Mt Baldy and Mt Baden Powell better, but it's still one to do and check off the list. My favorite time to do this hike is when it's hot and sunny - there's a lot of great shade on this hike. It almost feels more like an east coast hike with the streams and shade.
The day I did it, it was uncharacteristically humid so I basically poured out water as I climbed.
