My third encounter with Mountain Bluebird

My third encounter with Mountain Bluebird

I hike up Griffith Peak very often for the exercise. This was the third time within the last two weeks that I have spotted a Mountain Bluebird up there. Their striking color is hard to miss. I took this picture on the summit of Griffith Peak in the Spring Mountains, Nevada on July 7, 2007.

Great photo !

You managed to take a great photo. Birds are very difficult to photograph. Henryk

Re: Great photo !

Thank you. They are indeed. They never seem to want to be still. This one also kept moving around and foraging for bugs.

Re: nice photo

Thank you. The Bluebird was the one who chose this background for his photo ;)

Re: As usual

As usual you are very kind. Yes, we do have quite a few of them actually. Females are not as colorful and don't stand out as much. I have seen bluebirds also at much lower elevations.
Regards, AJ.
