Route Climbed: normal route Date Climbed: 9 august
It was a beautiful climb with hard winds. The day before on 8 august there where extreme hard winds.......(people in the north face on the lenzspitze had climbed it back on 8 august because the traverse was to dangerous with those winds). There where many people on their way to the summit. Also very slowly Italian...you couln't pass theme on the narrow rockrigde! After a long long walk we where back in Saas Fee!
bbirth! that was on 9 august?? we saw you going to the summit! We talked the evening before? Is that correct. hansbezemer@hotmail.com I have pictures from you in the lenzspitze face!
Route Climbed: Normal from Bordierhut to Mischabelhut Date Climbed: July 1995
I was only 19 years young and went with 2 friends. That was a good experience. It is a long way from Bordierhut but it is worth it!! Because of the heavy ascent to Mischabelhut!!
Route Climbed: normal from Mischabel Hut Date Climbed: 14.9.2003
Climbed the Nadelhorn with my Dad on this wonderful cloudless day and at the last opportunity for the summit before the Hut closed. Since it was late in the year and it had snowed the day before we were few to attempt it. Lots of snow after the windjoch and freezing cold. glorious views from the top
Route Climbed: NE Ridge / Lenzspitze - Nadelhorn Traverse (2x) Date Climbed: august 2003 / august 2009 / june 2022
2003: An amazing summit which allowed me to end my vacation in beauty. I'll be back for the traverse with Lenzspitze and/or Stecknadelhorn.
2009: It is said that the Lenzspitze - Nadelhorn Traverse is one of the most beautiful and rewarding climbs in the Valais. After completing the traverse I can only confirm this. However the ridge rising to the Nadelhorn is quite long and demanding, although it gives good climbing on compact rock. Don't try this if the weather is unstable. Some guidebooks say the ridge between Lenzspitze and Nadelhorn can be climbed in less than 2 hours. Although very well acclimatized and in superb condition, it took us more than 3 hours...I don't want to know how long it will take if you are caught by a thunderstorm and some snowfall up there...
2022: After climbing the NE Face of the Lenzspitze, we have the 'pleasure' to make the traverse to the Nadelhorn again...With still a considerable amount of snow early in the season, it took us a hard 5 hours. But we made it and victory tasted sweet :-)
Route Climbed: SE-ridge Date Climbed: June 18, 2000
Summited the Nadelhorn on the way back from Lenzspitze. In early season a lot of snow on the ridge. Climb over the 4 or 5 small towers, do not pass them at the side when there is some fresh snow.
