This wasn't really a "climbing" trip, but more of a backpacking trip. Looking forward to heading down again next summer to explore the area a bit more.
Base jumped off the bridge (Ssshh!) which was quite an adrenaline rush. Did some fun whitewater rafting in the class 4 rapids of the New River. Hiked a couple trails, scrambled up some rocks. (I wasn't a climber back then).
Great climbing and a fun cultural experience to be had on every trip to the New. While this isn't a "peak" exactly, any climbers living within a few hours of this treasure should make a point of spending a few weekends here.

Stayed with a friend at Gauley Bridge and canoed the Dries on the New or Kanawha. Drove to Fayetteville crossed the bridge and did some 5.7 on the Junkyard wall. One of the best climbing areas in the country.

Makes for a great summer spot, if you can stand the heatLots of different climbing spots here and at Summersville. Make sure to stop by Pies & Pints in Fayetteville. Rafting is good as well.

This place has it allI spent four days here hiking, running, rafting, kayaking and mountain biking. The only thing I missed was rock climbing, so I guess I will be back.
