North Face of Makrong Chhish (6607m) from Bitanmal

Makrong Chhish (6607m) is an unclimbed peak on the south side of the Hispar Glacier. It is located in the Spantik-Sosbun sub-range of the Karakoram which lies immediately south of the main crest. The photograph was taken from Bitanmal, a large meadow on the north side of the Hispar Glacier that is one of the nicest camping spots in the Karakoram. (Coordinates are for Bitanmal)

Need to Correct Something

I have noticed in your gallery the uncorrect way of putting all the eastern Karakoram as part of India these mountains are disputed among India and Pakistan and it is very unjustified to show all the Eastern Edges as india part. These were all belongs to Pakistan since India occupied them in 1984 you know.India and Pakistan are still loosing hundreds of soldiers there still due to cold climate and war situation still prevails there so mentioned them as disputed. It is advised by international wildlife and other foundations to make this area as a peace park between India and Pakistan.
Thanks
Anyways all of your pics are excellent offcourse.I hope you will understand what i want to mean by saying all that as it is unjustified by any means because this area has no boundary and no line of control. When there is no line of control and boundary in the area anyone cannot afford ta make them part of either country neither Pakistan nor India.Plz mentioned on Siachen Muztagh and Rimo Muztagh seperately as part of Disputed Teritorry.out of Rimo,Siachen and Saser the first two are part of disputed Siachen Glacier teritorry.
One more correction:
Saser and Mamostong Kangri are part of Saser Muztagh and not part of Rimo Muztagh.

Re: Need to Correct Something

Sorry but but you should know that the whole of former Kashmir is disputed... not just the area around the Line of Control! I am not interested in turning this in to a page on politics. From a mountaineering perspective these peaks are in India and you need to apply for a permit from the Indian Mountaineering Association to attempt them. Thanks for those corrections. I hadn't spotted them.
