Modified SE Chute
Up the sandy SE slope and ascended a class 3 chute a bit to the right of the one described in the route section. Topped out on the ridge less than 100 yards from the summit.
The Rim Fire was raging off to the west- but the Saddlebag Lake area was crystal clear

SE chute
Discovered this route after several days of cross-country backpacking from Green Creek. Definitely a nice finale. The scrambling towards the top is quite pleasant and the views are stunning. Although I didn't take it, I recommend the right chute variation to this route. There are actually two right chutes (really, the cute is split by a gendarme towards the top), and both looked fun from above.

Up the Talus Slope coming from Saddlebag
The area between Saddlebag Lake and Conness Lakes is stunningly scenic, especially given how little time and effort it takes to get there from the trailhead. Then a bit more effort put me atop an awesome perch with as much exposure and technical terrain within reach as I could want. However, given the approaching midday thunderstorms and my tendency to stick to class 2 terrain, I headed down quickly through rain to get to my hot lunch and shower.

NW Ridge + N. Ridge Conness, solo with the snow chasing me out of Tuolumne. Time to ski!

Via NW Ridge
Climbed the NW Ridge with a Bay Area Mountain Rescue Unit alpine training weekend. I am a weeny on fourth class so we used the rope a fair bit and I was basically shitting myself when we were not using a rope. I knew this already, but reinforced I have some work to do dealing with exposure. Still, a beautiful straightforward route with spectacular exposure and an easy descent route (regular class 2 route).

Climbed up from a campground past saddlebag lakes. Rapped down from close to the summit, then on down a chute and to the bottom with a fun glissade.

NW Ridge
Finally got around to climbing this with the BAMM meetup (Gabor, Ian, Eric, Mark, and Stefan). Linked it up with Conness North Ridge for a spectacular day out.
Soloed the central couloir, tagged the summit, downclimbed the right couloir, then soloed up the left couloir to descend off the back. Fun day.

A warm night made this a total slush-fest, but when it's in, the North-Conness combo would be an awesome alpine day.

Sweet scramble. The gaps were fun to cross and the short ridge getting onto the west face was briefly exposed and made for cool pics.
