North Ridge

North Ridge

The open forest (mostly) ridge on the north side of Gifford. This is what you bushwhack through, it's not too bad, mostly open with small huckleberry bushes at the foot of fir trees. Stick to this broad ridge on the way to the summit, off to the left (east) it drops off into cliffs above Thomas Lake.

Bushwhack?

I'd give my eye teeth for such a bushwhack. Looks like a highway through there.

Bushwhack grade huckleberry has to be at least head height and with the nap all aligned nicely downhill for lots of depositing of hiker on arse.

Cheers, Martin

Re: Bushwhack?

Ha, yeah, I know what those Vancouver Island bushwhacks are like. This one is an open lawn compared to those.

Thanks for checking the page out and your vote.
