North slope sketchin'

At 2,600 ft we saw a cliff coming so tried to avoid it, and for our troubles we found ourselves on an open slope of two inches (or less) of loose snow over slick duff. Oh, and it was steep. And I was sceeeered. December 30, 2006. Photo by Mark Scherer
