Snow in the desertI've been in the desert twice in April during snow storms and once in March. Also in November. I've come to expect cold, unsettled spring weather in the desert.
It is so wonderful to see snow or water in the desert!

Re: Snow in the desertI have to agree with you, if I were to live in a desert area like Las Vegas or Palm Springs, I'd grab my camera and head out hoping for more shots like this one.

Re: Snow in the desertIt is possible. Redsplashman posted some pics of Gass Peak which is at the north end of the LV valley and it had snow down to the lowest level that he had seen it at. So most likely, it snowed in the Red Rocks area as well.
