This is a common look for the Jordan River in this area. Fallen trees and islands of cedar make it quite confusing to follow at times. July '07

Hemlock?

Looks like hemlock trees adjacent to the river, especially the tree in the center. Are they suffering from hwa? Looks like it, if those are hemlocks.

I'm pretty sure those are Tamarack. Cedar/Tamarack swamps are VERY common in this area. I have heard there is a bug that is harmful to them that has been found in the area but I have a feeling these look rough simply due to the erosion around their root system.
