Water & Cabin

The Forest Service sometimes leaves jugs of drinking water in the cabin, which can be handy. If you're planning to overnight, it's worth knowing that water from Hillsboro Lake is seriously turbid. There's a spring about 3/4-mile north of the summit, but I don't know how reliable it is. The cabin has a wood-burning range which looked to be in workable condition. If one were planning to spend the night inside the cabin, you'd want to plan on extra time to sweep the place out a bit.
