Just a check-off
If it weren't for SummitPost and the HPS, I wouldn't have bothered. The helipad's a nice spot, though... and I suppose the sub-summit outcrop would be a decent aerie in the right light. No register. And what's up with the gnats?!

East Ridge
Started with Deception Peak and ended with this one for a quick
Saturday morning up and back. Views are mostly blocked from the summit but if you push through some nice ones can be had.

Mt Wilson Roundup
Peak 6 of 7 in the Mt Wilson area. The use trail is pretty easy to follow through the brushy ridge. Register dates back to Mars Bonfire's 4th summit ascent. The limited views are nice, but there's certainly no panoramics.

Overgrown Summit
The trail is overgrown but manageable, bring a bug net to avoid all the gnats on the trail. Trail follows just below the ridge so just go with it and eventually it'll spit you out where you need to be. Not much of a summit and only thing identifying it was a pile of rocks and a busted iphone.
A group of seven hikers from the Calabasas Day Hikers meetup group summited, but found no register to sign.

More interesting than I expected. Would be even more exciting from Eaton Saddle. Summit was mostly surrounded by trees limiting views.

From Mt. Wilson Rd
This was the last HPS summit I still needed in the Mt. Wilson area. Got it on a Sunday morning, no one else around. The use trail can get trickier than it sounds. No views at top due to brush. This is nothing more than in-and-out.

Up west ridge/down east ridge
#277 of 278. I had not planned on climbing it today -- merely to do some pruning in preparation for my list finish next week with a large group of friends (stopping short of the summit). But the old use trail has all but disappeared and it was easier to finish the trip via the summit than return along the west ridge. I'm glad I didn't take the group on this route.

Hiked this with my brother-in-law. Our plan was to hike this as well as Mt. Wilson and Mt. Harvard. This was a pure bushwhack at the time although we didn't have to contend with a fence.

Also done fast
Hiked (more like ran) this right after Markham. Car to summit in ~22 minutes.
Crossed the Heli pad and signed in at the ammo box. Weird summit. Didn't look like a summit, but reminded me of my hiding spot for two days in survival school.
My dog, Travis and his daughter hiked up the east ridge today after completing Markham. I liked this little hike, the trail was a tad hard to follow in a couple of places, but enough ducks along the way to keep you on track. Decent view of Markham and great view of Wilson from the "summit". Now that I know, I might try the west ridge sometime.
On my third time I took the route from the east, very easy , very pretty, a great view on top of it all. Makes up for the bad experience on Wilson's summit.

Use trail hard to follow at times. Don't venture on the ridge top; it won't go (very far).

Unique HikeThe route to this peak is a little unique, following the fence with warnings regarding high RF levels, razor wire and the large helicpoter pad.
Climbed with Mike (mgeo) and daughter. Great hike, beautiful weather. Combined with Mount Markham>
Made a cool track for Google Earth for Markham that includes georeferenced photos along the way, check it out!
