"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

Snowing in CyprusNice hike over part of Artemis trail and ski piste to the fence of the military base at the top. It was interesting to go there while snowing and after that going to a beach in the afternoon.

visit to top of cyprusWonderful vision of top of Cyprus after a snowfall (that might indeed happen!) Alas, one has to renounce to the very last few meters due to military radar on the very top of the peak. Hopefully, one day the mountain will be freed like some tops in central europe during the cold war that are now clean again.

No goThe summit, spoilt by a British military installation, is a bit of an anti-climax. Tommy go home please, the colonial days are over.

Please leave, soldiersThe actual summit is a bit ruined by occupying soldiers, but the paths on the upper slopes are really nice, and views of the entire island are spectacular.

Restricted AreaWalked trough the beautiful Troodos Mountains / Woods towards Olympos Mountain. The actual summit is off limits because it is a military ground for both the Cypriot and English Military.
Great views from just under the summit.

First taste of winter campingmy friends dad took us winter camping for the first time ever. I was around 15/16 years old. he brought external packs from the Kmart for us to use. we packed a 6 pack of Coke and tons of candy. After suffering for 3 nights, we went home. Since then, i cant wait until the next trip to "suffer" again. thanks Mr Taylor

Route Climbed: From South East Date Climbed: April 1994We climbed Mount Olympus as part of our hike from Larnaca in the south east to Polis in the north west. There was 1-2 feet of snow on the top, however, practically no snow for the most part of the trail up there. We camped at maybe 1500m, so the night was a bit chilly.
