Michael, good job on your solo trip up the Ortler! What a magnificent mountain! Looks like you were as surprised by the long and fairly difficult way down as we were a few weeks back. Did you actually drive home that same night?
thanks Daniel! No, I crashed after some dinner at the Reschenpass, with a great view of the mountain. Laid my head down and woke up 5 hours later as if it were 3 seconds!
Thanks Sebastian! Naw, it was fine. A bit snowy but all in a good way. Plus I had it easy - no trail to break :P I'm eager to see a TR of your Mont Blanc du Cheilon trip!
Well I just always feel bad for putting minimal effort into a video. I have a friend who really edits them nicely, even writes his own music for a video! Mine is just slapped together, so..."poor". But thank you, I'm glad it seemed ok to you!
I know, Munich is a lucky place to live! But then again...I envy Innsbruckers :D.
I saw the Julian Alps in the distance from the Großglockner yesterday...they looked good. As long as erosion continues at the current pace, they'll still be there in September for you!
Yeah, me too! I guess they could have climbed the Nordwand, though I think the avalanches from the previous days snow would have scared me away. Probably a good climb for the next day though.

Re: Beautiful Climb!Thank you Deb...I'll bet you will one of these days. The Ortler is a great one. I never heard of it until I moved here, but it's pretty special.

Envyis what I feel when I read that you can go to the Ortler region in just a couple of hours. I'd like to be ther - NOW!
And it's still two months until I'll get to go to the Julians. Sigh...
