After Organ Needle, we had a choice of going back the next day to Organ Mt... but we went to the Dona Anas.
I drove by the Organ Mts in 1982, and vowed to climb Needle, which then had a reputation for a hard bushwhack. Now there is a use trail right up and over the one class 3 stretch... finally made it in 2015.
Sometimes you git the bar, sometimes the bar gits you.
You make me want to go back. Did I say that already? Well, it deserves to be repeated. From Willa Cather: "in New Mexico, he always awoke a young man."
If you moved to L.C., you could always join the local meet-up, Jornada Hiking, and wait for a posted hike to Organ Peak. There is a guy named Yubao who does that, the Needle, and a few other local peaks often, or did when I lived nearby 3 years ago.

Live in Cruces? If you moved to L.C., you could always join the local meet-up, Jornada Hiking, and wait for a posted hike to Organ Peak. There is a guy named Yubao who does that, the Needle, and a few other local peaks often, or did when I lived nearby 3 years ago.
