Do you have a picture of Ormes from Colo. Springs? I've never been able to identify the peak from the plains.

Because Ormes sits back a bit from the edge of the Rampart Range it is not visible from most of Colorado Springs. It can be seen from the very southwest part of the city. It is quite obvious when driving north on 8th Street - once you pass Brookside and crest a hill it is in plain view above the Garden of the Gods and the Scar. It is also visible from unincorporated El Paso County to the northeast and east of the Air Force Academy. Other than those two areas it is blocked by Blodgett Peak, Point 9,491 and/or Lone Pine.
