Napi, Singleshot, Flattop, and Otokomi
Started with a bushwhack up to Napi Point from St Mary Campground. There is a boundary line to guide you but we couldn't manage to stay on it the whole time. Once up to Napi it was an easygoing ridge walk enjoying the views!

Off Trail Attempt
Hiked from the bend in the trail noted in this route description, then up on the scree and had to turn back due to daylight, a fun bushwhack down.

A grunt for such an unassuming mountain
We hiked from the bend in the trail noted in this route description, then up toward the right to the south ridge and on to the top. The scree and talus were pretty unrelenting until we could find cliff bands to scramble up. Weather was perfect if really windy.
The elevation gain noted in the page description is confusing. I'm not sure if the 2400' elevation gain only refers to what you have left after leaving the trail, but you actually gain around 3400' from Rising Sun to the summit over a distance of about 2.5 miles.
Climbed with Sean, Garrett, and Colin from the Otokomi Lake trail. Nice scramble on the way up, and the summit views of the Skyline Experience are great! There was a funny scene in the krumholtz near the summit involving the finding of ticks! Eewww!

Hiked with James & Alan. We went the way you recommended. It took us right up. The rocks just before East Flattop were fun to work through. Singleshot is amazing in terms of shear drop offs. Coming down the boundary trail started off great then progressively deteriorated, but it still got us to the campground and then we took the foot bridge over to the Visitor's Center were we left a car. The mosquitoes were brutal. One got stuck in my throat (I almost puked), two got stuck in my eyes when I blinked, one got in my nose. I wore my rain jacket most of the way down for protection. It was warm and I sweated like a pig. However, all in all it was a very good day. Lots of views and little wind.
June 2001
My first Glacier summits. A great day until we missed the boundary trail coming off of Napi Point. We followed a creek down only to surprise a large golden griz drinking from it. Luckily, he took off running when he saw us. This is when I learned the importance of making noise in those parts.
